Joseph Martin Rinehart, age 63, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri on Monday, March 15, 2010. He was born on August 16, 1946 in Chillicothe, Missouri the son of Clyde and Thelma (Chambers) Rinehart. He was a 1964 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1971, with a B.S. in Business. On June 26, 1982 in Utica, Missouri he married Dana Crookshank. She survives of the home. Joe was employed by the City of Chillicothe, Missouri for 37 years with 29 years as the Fire Chief. He was a member of the Chillicothe Elks #565 in Chillicothe, Missouri and Association of Fire Chiefs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, canning and loved spending time with his family. Survivors also include one son Joey Rinehart of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Melissa Olson and husband Brandon of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, Randy Rinehart of Marshall, Missouri; one sister, Sandy Machholz of Marshall, Missouri; one grandchild, Kaya Goldman of Chillicothe, Missouri, one nephew Mike Machholz and wife Janine, one niece Angela Driskell and son Noah of Marshall, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, two nephews, and one niece. Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made the Kaya Goldman Education Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
