Joseph Austin McBee, age 65, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his residence.
Joe was born the son of Lyman Shrum and Ramona June (Murray) McBee on January 15, 1955, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1973 graduate of Braymer High School earning the Curators Scholarship. After graduation, he attended the University of Missouri Columbia, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1977, graduating with the honors of Summa Cum Laude. While attending the University of Missouri he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Joe was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the McBee Chapel Church in Braymer, Missouri until closing. He then transferred his membership to the Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri. Joseph loved attending his nieces and nephews sporting, 4-H, and FFA Events. He enjoyed attending all of the local Braymer Tractor Pulls, and loved working and helping at those events. He also enjoyed going to the Braymer Fox hunts.
Survivors include two brothers, John Lyman McBee and wife Gwen of Auburn, Nebraska, and Jim McBee and wife Zelta of Rocheport, Missouri; one sister, Mona Kay Rennison and husband Eugene of Braymer, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at McBee Chapel Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to McBee Chapel Cemetery and/or the Braymer FFA for the Show Barn and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhomes.com . The family would appreciate the observance of social distancing and wearing of masks at the service.
