Johnny Jay Yeomans Johnny Jay Yeomans, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Johnny was born the son of John H. and Helen E. (Jenkins) Yeomans on January 21, 1946, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1964 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He was united in marriage to Darla Ann Driver on March 21, 2009, in Chillicothe, Missouri. Johnny worked in corrections and retired in 2015. Johnny loved spending time with his grandchildren, farming, horses and cowboy related westerns. Survivors include his wife Darla of the home; three sons, John "Travis" Yeomans and wife Arlene R. Yeomans of Centerville, Iowa, Douglas A. Yeomans of Springfield, Missouri, and Roy A. Yeomans of Chillicothe, Missouri; one stepson, Aaron Gentsch of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Dawn E. Adkison of Chillicothe, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Amanda Kendrick of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Sarah White of Oak Grove, Missouri; two sisters, Helen Ann Pittman of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Mary Steele of Amarillo, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Austin T. Yeomans, Melissa Chapman, Chyenne Chapman, Michael Starr, Alan "Mikah" Yeomans, Elyjah Lane Yeomans, Colten P. Ashford, Caleb P. Ashford, and Carli D. Ashford. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George M. Yeomans; one sister, Shirley R. Eller and son-in-law Cody L. Adkison; two nieces, Tanya Winkowski, and Lisa Horner; and his first wife, Bonnie (Crosser) Yeomans Pelly. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on June 1, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jenkins Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
