John Troy Rensch

John Troy Rensch, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was born on October 29, 1920, the son of Earnest Fern and Stella May (Roach) Rensch in Laredo, Missouri. He was a 1939 graduate of Laredo High School. John enlisted in the Army Air Force on March 27, 1944. He served in the Southwest Pacific in the 5th Air Force as a nose gunner on a B-24 Bomber. On August 18, 1945 his crew was credited with the last aerial combat mission of the war flying in a B-32 Bomber. On May 30, 1946 he married Mildred Lorene Hooker in Chula, Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2006. He farmed on the Rensch home place South of Laredo and established a business called Laredo Fuel and Lumber Company. In 1960 he moved to Chillicothe, Missouri and started Trench by Rensch. In 1968 he built the first Mini Warehouse storage units in Chillicothe. John was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church, American Legion, Vern R. Glick Post #25, Roy L. Burkett VFW Post #858, Chillicothe Masonic Lodge Services No. 89 AF and Am and the Grand River Historical Society. He was a past member of Chillicothe Kiwanis, the Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair Association and the Stucker Cemetery Board. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Jones and husband Don of Alba, Texas; his sister Mary Catherine (McCulley) Walton of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sisters-in-law Mary Thompson and husband William E. of Chillicothe, Missouri and Dixie Bohn of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers-in-law Charles Hooker and wife Sandy of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Zachary "Taylor" Hooker and wife Margorie of Griggsville, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stucker Cemetery, Laredo, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be to May Cemetery, in memory of his father-in-law and mother-in-law Wallace and Edna Hooker and family and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
