John S. Moore

John S. Moore John S. Moore, age 91, a resident of Rural Chula, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his residence. John was born the son of Fred and Lucinda Elizabeth (Gibson) Moore on May 18, 1922, in Allendale, Missouri. He was a 1939 graduate of Hatfield High School, Hatfield, Missouri. John served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Martha "Jane" Totten on October 5, 1941, in Grant City, Missouri. She survives of the home. Survivors include his wife, Jane of the home; three daughters, Lucinda Morris and husband Larry of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, Barbara Baxter and husband Danny of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Sue Gates and husband Brad of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Shane Baxter and wife Kathy of Chillicothe, Missouri, Clint Baxter and wife Emily of Kearny, Missouri, Chris Gates and wife Olivia of McPherson, Kansas, and Jeffrey Gates and wife Patricia of Austin, Texas; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Moore; one sister, Lucille Fletchall; and one nephew, Richard Moore. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 3, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
