John R.H. King John R. H. King, former resident of Chillicothe passed away at Windsor Estates in St. Charles, Missouri on Friday December 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera M. (Hughes) King who was born in Dawn, Missouri. John was born in Clarinda, Iowa on December 12, 1922. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII and then in the Air Force flying 33 B-29 missions in Korea. After retiring civilian life he lived in Loveland, Colorado, Mountain View, Arkansas, Chillicothe and St. Charles, Missouri, active in the American Legion Posts and Lions Clubs in each city. He received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 1987, the highest award in Lions International. He is survived by children John D. King, Deborah Nichols, Kathleen Martin and Curtis King along with nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, December15th at 10:30 a.m. There will be visitation at same on Monday evening, the 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Welsh Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri.
