John W. Johnson John W. Johnson, age 70, a resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on May 10, 2013, at his residence. John was born the son of Minnis and Gwendolyn Johnson on February 25, 1943, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was a 1961 graduate of Chillicothe High School. John served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1967 until 1968, being awarded the Bronze Star with a Combat "V" device and the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. He was also nominated for the Silver Star and received other commendations. He worked as a Security Guard for the United States Government for many years in Florida, Texas, California, and Hawaii. Survivors include His Niece, Linda Jean White of Sedalia, Mo., niece Cheryl Lynn Graham of St. Joseph, Mo., nephew Bill Graham of Roach, Mo., nephew Lewis E. Graham II of Stover, Mo., and Cousin Wanda Baxter, Fort White, Florida, and many other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; Minnis Johnson, and Gwendolyn Johnson and Sister, Doris Jean Graham, Trenton, Mo., and one baby brother. Graveside services will be held at Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri, on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, May 23, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
