John Robert "Bob" Earl Hibler
John Robert "Bob" Earl Hibler, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Bob was born the son of Andy and Hettie (Wilson) Hibler on June 11, 1933, in Farmersville, Missouri. He was a graduate of Farmersville High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, during the Korean War. Bob was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Sue Koehly on September 10, 1955, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 22, 2019. He worked as a marketing representative for Old American Insurance, United American Insurance, and Standard Life Insurance Companies for many years. Bob also worked as a mechanic for Grand River Technical School, Chillicothe, Missouri, for 17 years. He was a member of the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Bob was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656, Chillicothe Saddle Club, and the Peppy Promenaders. The thing Bob enjoyed most was his grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Barrows of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Hoerrmann and wife Julie, Heather Fisher and husband Brad, Lindsey Moss and husband James, Ryann Gatson, Andrea Dennis, Jared Hoerrmann and wife Tiffany, Kaleigh Hoerrmann, and Kasey Johnson and husband Scott; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one brother, Junior "Francis" Hibler of Kidder, Missouri; three sisters, Margaret Gates of Famersville, Missouri, Violet "Porky" Wilson of Independence, Missouri, and Shirley Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia "Pat"; and one son, Rick Hibler; one brother, Leo Hibler; and one sister, Velma Scott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
