John Jay Gibson

John J. Gibson John J. Gibson, age 66, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri. John was born the son of Clarence (Sug) and Rosalee (Tharp) Gibson on June 4, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1966 graduate of Meadville High School. John worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for 20 years. He also worked as a Security Guard for Pinkerton Security for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, black powder rifles, and was a huge wildlife supporter. John was a gifted craftsman and artist. He was a member of the NRA and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Survivors include his mother, Rosalee Gibson of Chillicothe, Missouri; son, John Jay Gibson, Jr. and wife Gail of Cullowhee, North Carolina, and Richard Gibson of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Greg Anthony, Mac Crag Louis, Wyatt Allan, and Zachary Dotson; two sisters, Debbie Halverson and husband Leo of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Della Ann Tracy of Chillicothe, Missouri; nephew, Mike Tracy of Chillicothe, Missouri; niece, Susannah Tracy Cunningham of Boone, Iowa; and great nephews and niece, Christopher, Jacob, and Stephanie Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his father; and longtime companion, Nancy Gail Jones. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, August 8, 2014, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
