John E Davis Jr. John Davis Jr., age 81, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri. John was born the son of John Davis Sr. and Bessie Merril on July 26, 1931, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was united in marriage to Nellie Hawkins on March 5, 1955, on the Naval Air Force Base in Glenview, Illinois. She survives of the home. John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1948 until 1973. He was employed as a Field Rep for the county and the State of Missouri for 36 years. John was a member of the Tweedie Murray American Legion Post 117. Survivors include wife, Nellie Davis of Braymer, Missouri; two sons, Ray Davis and wife Juliet of San Francisco, California and Scott Davis and wife Maggie of Phoenix, Arizona, also two grandchildren, Callie and Robert Davis of Phoenix. Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri, one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
