John Steven Damerell, age 65, a resident of Ludlow, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at his residence.
John was born the son of Larry Eldon and Roselyn Elizabeth (Stephenson) Damerell on November 21, 1954, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He graduated from Southwest Livingston High School in 1973. John worked for Hallmark Distribution for 15 years. John loved playing music, including the piano, guitar, and trombone. He played with the Country Sunshine Band and the Ludlow Band. He was a member of Ludlow Community Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathy Cox and husband Donnie of Braymer, Missouri, Rhonda Bondurant and husband Bob of Mooresville, Missouri; one uncle, Roger Stephenson and wife Bonnie of Ludlow, Missouri; two nieces, Jennifer Markt and husband Chris, Stephanie Joint and husband Nic; two nephews, Brad Cox and wife Toi Anne, and Derek Cox; and several great-nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Ryan C. Bondurant.
Funeral services will be held at the Ludlow Community Church, Ludlow, Missouri, on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at McCoskrie Cemetery, Ludlow, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ludlow Community Church and / or McCoskrie Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
