John R. Constant

John R. Constant John R. Constant, age 83, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. John was born the son of James Harvey and Ada Ruth (Fitzpatrick) Constant on June 24, 1934, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Betty Louise (Nibarger) Thompson on December 29, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2014. John worked for Shelgas for 5 years. He then worked for S&S Sales for 4 years. John owned and operated his own feed store for 15 years and had three of his own trucks. John served on the Wheeling Township Board. Survivors include one stepson, Clifford Thompson of Wheeling, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Cindy Barnes and husband Mike of Franklin, Illinois; one brother, George Constant and wife Sandy of Trenton, Missouri; two sisters, Helen Buckner of Wheeling, Missouri, and Lillian Frizzell of Corydon, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Constant, Norma Constant, and Jean Constant all of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one brother-in-law, Bill Stucker of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; two infant brothers; three brothers, Jack, Joe, and Bud Constant; two sisters, Clara Phillips, and Leila Stucker; three brothers-in-law, Charles Frizzell, Felix Buckner, and Dale Phillips; and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
