Jo Ann Burkey Jo Ann Burkey, age 71, a resident of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Boone Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Jo Ann was born the daughter of Curtis and Evelyn (Woods) McKnight on March 13, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a 1962 graduate of Braymer C-4 High School, Braymer, Missouri. After graduating high school she went on to graduate from Guard Business College in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Lyle Burkey on June 28, 1964, in Braymer, Missouri. He survives of the home. Jo Ann worked as a secretary for Circle G Plumbing Company in Columbia, Missouri, for over 25 years. She also attended the Woodcrest Methodist Church, Columbia, Missouri. Survivors include husband Lyle Burkey of the home; one son Curt Burkey of Columbia, Missouri; one brother Bill McKnight of Dallas, Texas; one sister Susan Clevenger and husband Jerry of St. Joseph, Missouri; and nieces, nephews, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, February 12, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
