Jimmy Lee Grozinger
Jimmy Lee Grozinger, age 64, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
Jimmy was born in Braymer, Missouri, on December 11, 1955, the son of Leland and Mary Helen (Key) Grozinger. He was raised in Dawn, Missouri, on the Grozinger family farm. Jim attended Tina-Avalon High School, and graduated in 1974. After graduation, he attended the University of Missouri, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Education in 1978, and later went on to earn his Masters of Science degree in Agriculture Education.
Jim was united in marriage to Paula S. Littrell on May 21, 1977, in Wheeling, Missouri. They moved to Maysville, Missouri, in 1978, and started their teaching careers there. Jim taught Agriculture Education for five years before they moved to Chillicothe, where he began his 26 year span of teaching Farm Management at the Grand River Technical School. His career was defined by coaching the FFA members in Farm Management, leading the adult education program, and was the Young Farmer's Advisor.
After retiring in 2010, Jim continued the adult education program and was still the Young Farmer's Advisor. He also became active in the Wheeling Community. He helped orchestrate the building of the Wheeling Community Center, became a member of the Gideon's, taught Sunday School, led the Bible study, and was Treasurer of the Wheeling Christian Church. He also served as past trustee of the Wheeling Township. Jim and Paula enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They entertained at their lake cabin, traveled many places with family and friends, and made many fond memories.
Survivors include his wife, Paula S. Grozinger of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Marshall and husband Jeffrey of Chillicothe, Missouri; one son, Brett Grozinger and wife Tessa of Wheeling, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Adler Marshall, Abby Marshall, Greg Grozinger, Blain Grozinger, and Trey Grozinger. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at the Wheeling Christian Church, Wheeling, Missouri, on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the M.W. Jenkins Expo Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
