Jimmie Dale Leighty Jimmie Dale Leighty age 76, a resident of Carrollton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Missouri. Jimmie was born the son of Grant and Louise (Reno) Leighty on May 25, 1936 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Jimmie graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in 1953 and later graduated from Wentworth Military academy with a Bachelor degree in Business. Jimmie served in the United States Army between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After leaving the Army he moved to the Norborne area where he farmed for himself and many others. Jimmie enjoyed playing in big golf tournaments, racing race cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Jimmie Dale Leighty and wife Lorie of Junction City, Kansas, Grant Alan Leighty and wife Shanel of Camdenton, Missouri and Chad Nameth Leighty and wife Susanne of Chandler, Arizona; one sister Helen Braden of Pittsburg, Kansas; one brother Terry Leighty of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a very dear friend Phyllis Thomas of Carrollton, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Grant Golden Leighty Jr. Funeral services will be held at the DeWitt Baptist Church, DeWitt, Missouri, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the DeWitt Baptist Church, DeWitt, Missouri, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A Private family burial will be held at Big Creek Cemetery Bosworth, Missouri at a later date.
