Jimmie "Jean" Wood

Jimmie "Jean" Wood Jimmie "Jean" Wood, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. She lived at the Baptist Home for the past five years. Jean was born the daughter of James Webb and Beulah Bertha (Luetjen) Anson on February 7, 1929 near Higginsville, Missouri. She was a graduate of Higginsville High School in 1947. She united in marriage to William Eugene (Gene) Wood on December 6, 1947 in Higginsville, Missouri. She worked as a teacher's aide for the Chillicothe School District. Jean was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe prior to residing at the Baptist Home and continued in her faith at their services. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, cooking, and selling her goods at the Trenton market. Her favorite times and memories, which were shared with all that visited, were of her three grandchildren and times spent with them at the farm, on family vacations, and visits to Kansas City. She often said how blessed she was to recently be given five great-grandchildren that helped add to her memories and stories to share with all who stopped by to visit with her. Jean is survived by her husband, Gene of Chillicothe, Missouri; her two sons, Jim Wood and wife Linda (Clapp) of Milton, Florida, Mike Wood and wife Julie (Crawford) of Leawood, Kansas; three grandchildren, Courtney (Wood) and Larry Pfaff of Leawood, Kansas, Clayton and Nikki (Schweppe) Wood of Leawood, Kansas, Conner and Caitlin (O'Rourke) Wood of Kansas City, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Landon Todd Pfaff, Blake Denver Pfaff, Addie Lane Pfaff, Greyson James Wood and Brooks Michael Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Evelyn Daum and Mary Ann Luke. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
