Jewell Junior Gorham Jewell Gorham, age 87, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Jewell was born the son of Jewell Alleyne and Elma Opal (Phillips) Gorham on June 2, 1926, near Cowgill, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage to Ina Mae Wilds on September 26, 1953, in Braymer, Missouri. She survives of the home. Jewell was a local business owner for over 45 years. He was the founder of Oak Tree Square in Braymer and a member of the board for over 35 years. Jewell was a lifelong member of the church of Christ in Braymer. He also built and drove race cars for many years. Survivors include wife Ina Mae Gorham; three daughters, Carol Lee Stilwell of Woodridge, Illinois, Carla Louise Webb and husband Rick of Cowgill, Missouri; and Crystal Lynn Phipps and husband Eugene of Braymer, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Frances Voyles; one brother, Omar Sterling Gorham; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one infant sister. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, December 30, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Sunday, December 29, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Sunday, December 29, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
