Jerry Lee Griffin

Jerry L. Griffin Jerry L. Griffin, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018. He passed away at his residence surrounded by his family. Jerry was born the son of Charles E. and Dorothy J. (Gordon) Griffin on December 9, 1938, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1957 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Jerry was united in marriage to Nina Linscott on November 16, 1958, in Blue Mound, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for Donaldson Company in Chillicothe, Missouri, for 38 years. He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 8 years. Jerry served as pastor at the Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Trenton, Missouri, for 6 years. He also served as a volunteer for R.S.V.P. He was a member of the Souls Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri. Jerry loved golfing, especially playing in the senior league, and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Nina, of the home; one son, Rick Griffin, and wife, Kim, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Shelly Griffin, of Chillicothe, Missouri; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra M. Blakely, and husband, Ray, of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bud Griffin; and one great-grandson, Finn Lee Griffin. A celebration of life will be held at the Souls Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. A private family inurnment will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, at a later date.
