Jerry Dale Gaston, age 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at Hedrick Medical Center.
Jerry was born the son of Fred Wesley Gaston and Amanda May (Sprouse) Gaston on December 24, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of rural Livingston County, Missouri. Jerry graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1961, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri.  He was united in marriage to Nellie Jo Schwab on June 14, 1964. They had just celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Jerry was a second generation farmer and a self-taught handyman, as he was known to be able to fix anything. He raised crops and cattle.  Animals of all kinds were also very special to him.  He loved, loved his family.  His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were what made his heart full.  He loved to hunt, and loved to help people any way he could. Serving his Lord and Savior was at the top of his list.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Jo, of the home; one son, Brian Gaston of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Boley and husband, Scotty, of Chillicothe, Missouri and  Angela Graham and husband, Bill, of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Adam Gaston, and wife Jamie, Shelbi Shira, Kelsey Kelly and husband, Logan, Tristan Boley and wife, Jacklyn, Cody Graham, Ally Graham, Cole Graham and Laik Graham; six great-grandchildren, Jax Harris Gaston, Emerson Scott Kelly, Clyde Robert Kelly, Waylynn Grace Boley, Lilliana Shira, and Leih Shira; one brother, Dell Frank Gaston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Emma Zullig; and brother, J.R. Gaston.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
