Jerrie Lee Thompson, 75, a Chillicothe, Missouri resident passed away Tuesday April 5, 2011 at his residence in Chillicothe, Missouri. Jerrie Lee was born on January 24, 1936 in Meadville, Missouri, the son of John Clifford and Vera Corrine (Beaird) Thompson. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. On April 15, 2001, he was united in marriage to Joyce Edwinna (Brown) Kincel-Brock in Hale Missouri, who survives him of the home. Jerrie was owner and operator of Motor Supply Company. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, fishing and hunting. He is survived by one son, Steven Lee Thompson of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Dana Melte and husband Larry, of Chillicothe, Missouri, Janet Gannan and husband Tony of Chillicothe, Missouri; grandchildren Katie Woodworth and husband Colin of Chillicothe, Missouri, Lauren Melte of Chillicothe, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Carman and Kimber Woodworth of Chillicothe, Missouri. He is also survived by step-son Mark Kincel of Chillicothe, Missouri, step-daughters Cynthia L. Jenkins and husband Jay of Hale, Missouri, and Karen R. Kincel of South Carolina; step-granddaughters, Sara James and husband Arlo of Des Moines, Iowa, Kathy Elliott and husband Norman of Independence, Missouri, Cally Gannan of St Joseph, Missouri; step- grandsons, Christopher S. Cotter of Hale, Missouri, Damien Kincel of South Carolina and Jesse Kincel of South Carolina, Josh Gannan of Gallatin, Missouri, D.J. Gannan of Chillicothe, Missouri; step great-grandsons, Calvin Elliott, Landin James, Levi James; step great-granddaughters, Breanna Cotter, Haley Cotter, and Jerzey James; one brother Jack Thompson of Breckenridge, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Thompson, and James Thompson. A Memorial service will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, in Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the funeral home from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Inurnment will be at the Meadville Cemetery.
