Jenny Rose (Bennett) Wood Jenny Rose (Bennett) Wood, age 89, a resident of Columbia, Missouri, former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Lenoir Health Care Center, Columbia, Missouri. Jenny was born the daughter of Gordon and Bessie (Porter) Bennett November 16, 1923, in Graham, Missouri. Jenny graduated from Maryville High School, Maryville, Missouri, in 1941. She then graduated from the University Of Missouri School Of Journalism, Columbia, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Harold Lloyd Wood February 2, 1951, in Jefferson City, Missouri. He preceded her in death November 23, 1998. Jenny was employed at the Constitution Tribune, Chillicothe, Missouri, for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, Chapter T, and the PEO Sisterhood. She was also a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Columbia, Missouri. Jenny worked with others to start Peter Pan School and Camp Rainbow in the early 1960's in Chillicothe, and continued her advocacy for disabled children and adults throughout her life. Survivors include one son David Wood and wife Gail of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter Nancy Minchillo and husband Joseph of Plano, Texas; and three granddaughters, Abby and Millie Wood, and Madeline Rose Minchillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; one daughter Ann; two brothers, Lawrence Bennett and Ellis Bennett; and two sisters, Hannah Lou Bennett and Elizabeth (Bunty) Hartwig. Memorial services will be held at Maitland Cemetery, Maitland, Missouri, on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Higginsville State School Parents Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
