Janet J. Smith Janet J. Smith, age 76, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday November 2, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Janet was born the daughter of Joseph and Jasmine (Saunders) Thompson on May 13, 1936, in Coos Bay, Oregon. Janet is survived by her companion of over 30 years, Larry Van Alstine; and six grandchildren Laura, Kara, Russell Elijoh, Michael and Adam. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Teresa O'Sullivan and one grandson Clyde Goffena. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 9, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Burial will be held at the Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
