Janet C. Ross, age 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Janet was born on July 3, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Milton and Shirley (Myers) Hancock. She was a 1965 graduate of William Tennent High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania. On June 22, 1973, she married Stephen Ross, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2017.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Janet was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch. She was also a very talented water color painter later in life. She enjoyed travelling and fishing with her husband, Stephen. Janet loved her grandchildren. She was a proud and supportive military wife through their many moves.

Janet is survived by her son, James M. Ross of Kansas City, Missouri; her daughter, Michelle Perry of Sugar Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kiera Bosley, Aiden Bosley, Priest Bosley and Karina Ross; one sister-in-law, Pat Hancock of Langhorne, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen Ross; and one brother, Milton “Skip” Hancock.

A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
