James Lloyd Silkwood, age 63, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at his residence.
James was born the son of Lloyd Dean and Elizabeth (Johnson) Silkwood on December 14, 1955, in North East Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. He owned and operated his own tow truck business for many years. James enjoyed racing street stock race cars, going to the casino, fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and singing. He called Bingo at the Chillicothe Elks Lodge and Chillicothe Eagles Lodge. He was a member of the Chillicothe Boat Club, where he served as past vice president, the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656, and the Chillicothe Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie Lodge #2428.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Silkwood of Chillicothe, Missouri; six sons, Michael Silkwood and wife Charity of Utica, Missouri, Bubba Silkwood and wife Jessica of Chillicothe, Missouri, James Keller and wife Sandy of Riverside, California, Jerry Perry and wife Lynn of Chillicothe, Missouri, Joseph Perry of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Orville "Buddy" Silkwood of Chillicothe, Missouri; three daughters, Georgia Hines and husband Shane of Chillicothe, Missouri, Diana Thompson and husband Leon of Marshall, Missouri, and Laura Waterman of Chillicothe, Missouri; thirty-four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Vicky Schraml of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was also loved by the ladies, with four previous marriages. He was preceded in death by his father; one grandchild, Latisha Hines; two brothers, Dean and Orville Silkwood; and one sister, Regina Silkwood.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Black Oak Cemetery, Braymer , Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Silkwood Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
