James L Shafer

James Shafer, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, at Indian Hills Retirement Village. James was born the son of Carl and Aura Bell (Cartwright) Shafer on August 3, 1935, in Linn County, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Juanita Reeter on June 29, 1956, in Livingston County, Missouri. She survives the home. James worked as an Assistant manager for T & R soil service in Chillicothe, Missouri, for several year. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, mowing yards, and camping. He is also survived by one son JD Shafer and wife Kristy of Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers-in-law Richard Reeter and wife Helen and Delbert Reeter and wife Joyce, one sister in-law Delores Shafer all of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jack Shafer. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call on Tuesday December 15, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday December 16, 2015 from 8 a.m. until service time at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be at the Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
