James "Gary" Riegel James "Gary" Riegel, age 75, a resident of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Gary was born the son of James H. and Edna Pearl (Swartz) Riegel on February 24, 1942, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1960 graduate of East High School, Kansas City, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Mary Grace Mowell on July 26, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home. Gary retired as an office machine mechanic from the Kansas City School District. He then worked as a school bus driver for the Kearney School District and as a truck driver for Geiger Ready-Mix. Gary was a handyman and could fix anything. He loved motorcycle riding and hunting. He enjoyed golfing even though it is not a sport. Gary was an Eagle Scout, member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and was active in Boy Scouts as an advisor. He served as a volunteer at Liberty Hospital with patient registration. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; one son, James Kenneth Riegel and wife Abby of Breckenridge, Missouri; two daughters, Beverly Elaine Springer of Kearney, Missouri, and Kimberly L. Black of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Jane Riehl of Kansas City, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter Megan Joy Springer. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, July 31, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. 291 Hwy, Liberty, Missouri 64068, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
