James Eugene Owens James Eugene Owens, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Livingston Manor on Saturday, April 10, 2010. James was born September 10, 1922 in Grundy County, Missouri to Wilbur Newton and Orphie (Simmons) Owens. In December 26, 1961, he married Lorene Franklin in Trenton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2004. James worked for Jim Minnis for twenty years, the Laredo R-VII School District as a bus driver for twenty years, and John Deere in Trenton, Missouri for six years. James was a member of the Laredo Christian Church and he enjoyed gardening and working on cars. Survivors include his nephews, Larry Owens of Kansas City, Missouri and Punky Owens of Laredo, Missouri; one niece, Cissy Loyd of Laredo, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Jackie Owens of Laredo, Missouri; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and twin brother Gerald, brother Ronnie, and two step-children, Jim Ben Franklin and Mary Jean Bowe Elliot. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at1:00 p.m. at the Laredo Christian Church in Laredo, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Richardson Cemetery, Laredo, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richardson Cemetery and/or Hedrick Medical Center Hospice and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
