James "Jim" McNally
James "Jim" McNally, age 81, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jim was born on October 13, 1937, to Tennis and John McNally in Chillicothe, Missouri. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1955, and began work with Cloverset Nursery in Kansas City, Missouri. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1960, and served two years, being stationed in Fort Leonardwood, Fort Sill, and Fort Riley. He was discharged as SP-4 in 1962, and served until 1966 in the United States Army Reserve. He and Marilyn Willard were married on March 7, 1964, and lived in Kansas City, Missouri the remainder of their 55 years together. Jim worked in various landscaping and construction positions, being employed by Professional Park Plaza, Reese and Son's Construction, Cull Painting, and his own home repair business. He retired in 1999 after heart surgery, and continued doing the things he loved, gardening, fishing, hunting, helping others, traveling, working his in-laws farm, and spending time with family and friends. He was honored to serve his Lord and Savior as a deacon of Martin City Baptist Church for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn McNally, and mother-in-law, Cleo Willard, of the home; children, Krislyn Booth (Wes) of Belton, Missouri, Jason McNally (Megan), and Patrick McNally (Brooke) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jonathan McNally (Kim) of Grandview, Missouri; grandchildren, Joshua Booth (Becky), Frankie Dawn Clover (Alex), Hannah Booth; Garrett, Morgan, and Maryn McNally; Dean and Trina McNally; Joseph McNally; a brother, Bill McNally (Sharon) of Chillicothe, Missouri and a sister, Shirley Seifert of Wheeling, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Louis, Robert, and Joseph McNally; and two sisters, Tessie Howe and Peggy Bate.
A graveside service will be held at Welsh Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri, on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Martin City Baptist Church, 520 E. 132nd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64145, on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martin City Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
