James "Jimmie" Dryden James Alfred "Jimmie" Dryden, age 65, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Indian Hills Nursing Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Jimmie was born on January 5, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Arthur Alfred and Mary Juanita (Gann) Dryden. He attended Chillicothe schools. He farmed with his father and raised polled Hereford cattle northwest of Chillicothe in the Sampsel community. Jimmie was a most dedicated volunteer. He spent almost every day volunteering at the Hedrick Medical Center. He also served as a crossing guard at Dewey School. In 2002, he was presented the Elk's Distinguished Citizenship Award. He was also selected Volunteer of the Year for 2003 by RSVP. Jimmie was a member of the Mount Olive United Methodist Church. Due to his health, he has lived at Indian Hills Nursing Home for the last several years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tom Beedle. He is survived by many, many cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mount Olive Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
