James Robert "Bob" Goss James Robert "Bob" Goss, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Bob was born the son of James Robert and Mae Esther (Cross) Goss on October 14, 1922, in Troy, Kansas. He was a 1940 graduate of Troy High School. After graduation, he attended Chillicothe Business College, graduating in 1942. Bob served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 until 1946. He was united in marriage to Irene Lenore (Hedrick) on December 8, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives of the home. He worked as a Bookkeeper for John Graves Food Service for 34 years, and following retirement worked for Peterman Pharmacy for 10 more years. Bob was a member of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, a 70 year member of the American Legion Vern R. Glick Post #25, a member of the Chillicothe Jaycees and Chillicothe Kiwanis since 1970, holding many offices including President, Secretary, Treasurer and District Governor. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sports, gardening, spending time with friends playing bridge and traveling and driving tours of the United States. Bob always attended his Army Reunions. Survivors include his wife, Irene of the home; one son, James N. Goss and wife, Deborah, of Kearney, Missouri; two grandsons, Phillip James Goss of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jonathan Eric Goss, and wife, Lindsey, and one great grandson, Carver Winston Goss all of Kansas City, Missouri; and a sister, Barbara Mae Goss of Troy, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffery R. Goss in 1992, two brothers, Ona Laverne Goss and Kenneth Eugene Goss; and two sisters, Donna Roberta Jones and Virginia Lee Goss. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, from 12:30 pm until service time at 2:00pm. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
