James H. Burk, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at his residence, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 15, 2010. He was born the son of James E. and Alta Jane (Hunter) Burk on March 20, 1927, in Trenton, Missouri. He was a graduate of Trenton High School, Trenton, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during World War II. In 1946, he married Georgia "Voncille" Newton in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on October 30, 1965. On September 8, 1967, he married Wilma J. Richardson in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2010. Mr. Burk was a Co-Owner of Burton/Strong Clothier and then became the owner of Park Center Cleaners. He was a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post number 25. He is survived by one son; James H. Burk and wife Saundra of Stet, Missouri; two daughters Joella Baldwin and husband Dave of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Kayce H. Utterback of Kearney, Missouri; two step-sons Steven L. Walker of Chillicothe, Missouri, Mark T. Walker and wife Pam of Shawnee, Kansas, one step-daughter Deborah C. Epperson of Springfield, Missouri; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vern R.
