Sue Bowman, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at her residence. Sue was born the daughter of Vincent Rainwater and Doris "Mildred" Berry on June 17, 1941 in Ray County, Missouri. She was a 1959 Polo High School graduate. After graduation she worked for Western Auto until she was married. On February 14, 1963 she was united in marriage to Howard Bowman in Kansas City, Missouri, he preceded her in death on May 9, 2003. Sue worked at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri for over 29 years. She enjoyed camping, reading, fishing, sewing, flowers and gardening. She had a loving heart for animals, many times opening her home and caring for them. She also loved taking vacations with her children and was a caregiver to many. Her finest skill was being able to type 120 words per minute on a manual type writer. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Baker of Independence, Missouri and Lori Abney and husband Mark of Columbia, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ryan Jennings of Chillicothe, Missouri, Cheyenne Blankenship of Columbia, Missouri, Luke Abney of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jesse Jo Abney of Springfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant sister Sherrie Lou and one sister Mary Ann Davis Sherman. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill, Missouri.
