Ivan Leroy Peters Ivan Leroy Peters, age 93, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, in loving care. Ivan was born on August 10, 1919, in Ray County in the Millville Community, the son of Charles William and Bessie Marie (Shumate) Peters. Ivan married Doris Maye Kavanaugh on August 1, 1943, at Braymer, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2010. They were blessed with two children, Donna Kay and Charles Leroy. Ivan joined the Hale Baptist Church in 1958, and became a dedicated member, and then a deacon. He loved his church and family very much. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Kay Guilford and husband Richard of Hale, Missouri; one son, Charles Leroy Peters and wife Sharon of Fresno, California; two grandsons, Tyson Lee and Corbin Trent Peters of Fresno, California. There were three children that claimed and named him To To. They were his grandchildren also, Twanette Watson, Sarah Rall, and Kevin Miller, children of Charlotte and Lee Miller with their grandchildren, Burton, Bella, Ethan, and Jason; sister, Nadine Battagler of Orrick, Missouri; and one sister-in-law, Mary Peters of Polo, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; one brother, Glenn three sisters, Melba, Helen, and Velma; and one half-sister, Gertrude. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hale Baptist Church and/or the Alzheimer's Foundation and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
