Ilah Mae Cummings Ilah Mae Cummings, age 94, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, Missouri. Ilah was born the daughter of Ralph and Effie (Engleman) Dennis on February 4, 1919 in Linneus, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Cummings Jr. on September 28, 1940 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2006. They were married for 66 years. Ilah worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri for 15 years. She loved working with her family. Survivors include one daughter Carolyn Suddreth of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, John L Cummings and wife Patricia of Parkville, Missouri; three granddaughters, Kristen Whisnant and husband Jim of Parkville, Missouri, Lisa Roos and husband Joe of Parkville, Missouri, and Shari Noonan and husband Rob of Plainfield, New Jersey; seven great-grandchildren, C.J. and Abbey Whisnant, Kaitlyn, Thomas and Nicholas Roos, and Jackson and Connor Noonan; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Cummings Jr.; three brothers, Earl, Daniel, and Leon; and three sisters, Ruby Triplett, Alta Graham, and Eulav Thorne Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
