Ila Frances Lineberry, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly, Missouri.
Ila was born near Hale, Missouri, on October 9, 1924, to Thomas H. and Bessie E. (Stephens) Wooden. Due to her mother's serious illness that resulted in her death, and at the request of her mother, Ila was raised by her mother's sister and husband, Bertha and W.I. Dennis.
At the age of 12, she accepted Jesus as her Savior, and with three other cousins was baptized in the Grand River. Her husband, Wallace, was also baptized there, and it was land that Wallace and Ila later owned, so it had a special meaning. She was a member of the Chillicothe Church of Christ.
Ila lived in the Hale area until she graduated from Hale High School in 1942. She lived in Missouri all her life, except during the years of World War II, when she lived in Indiana.
In 1942, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where her first job was with Hallmark Cards. On November 7, 1942, she married Billy Bob Colliver, who she went to school with. He was in World War II, where he served in the Battle of the Bulge. Billy Bob departed this life in 1945 in Belgium, and is buried in Maastricht, Holland.
In 1945, Ila moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, to attend the Casper Beauty Academy, and later went back to Kansas City to work at Montgomery Wards.
Ila was united in marriage to Wallace S. Lineberry on February 4, 1949. They made their home on a farm east of Hale, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1986. They were blessed with four children: James Robert "Bob" Lineberry, Peggy Jean Daniels, Sue Ellen Floyd, and Bruce Stoner Lineberry; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson. Ila was blessed with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; husband, Wallace; two grandsons; and three brothers, Harold, Glendon, and Lowell Wooden.
