Howard Marvin Albertson

Howard "Marvin" Albertson, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Marvin was born near Wheeling, Missouri, on July 16, 1919, the son of Weber and Ruth (Collis) Albertson. He graduated from Wheeling High School in 1937 and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a farmer and lived his whole life in the Wheeling area. On August 3, 1942, he was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Holcer in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2000. On November 29, 2004, he married Wilma L. Cooper in Wheeling, Missouri. Survivors include wife Wilma Albertson of Wheeling, Missouri; son Terry Albertson and wife Lesa of Wheeling, Missouri; daughters Diane McKiddy and husband Clifford of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Teresa Albertson of Sedalia, Missouri; stepsons Dennis Littrell of Lawson, Missouri, and David Littrell and wife Robin of Hardin, Missouri; stepdaughter Pam Chenowith and husband John of Overland Park, Kansas; brother Wayne Albertson and wife Pauline of Wheeling, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Mary Albertson; daughter Dolores Thorne; brother Warren Albertson; and sister Helen Lane. Graveside funeral services will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri, on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Help and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
