Helen Bernice Palmer Helen Palmer, age 100, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe. Helen was born the daughter of Andrew and Cornelia (Maxwell) Johnson on May 5, 1912, in Callao, Missouri. On January 21, 1934, she was united in marriage to Wymond Palmer in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1989. Helen has been a resident in Chillicothe for 79 years and moved here from Callao, Missouri. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Charles Wymond Palmer, of Lakeview Terrace, California; six daughters, Barbara "Sue" Rogers, and husband Stan, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Bessie Louise Wilson, and husband James, of Northridge, California, Bette Jo Palmer, of Edina, Minnesota, Judith Bernice Fristoe, and husband James, of Pflugerville, Texas, Jeana Kay McKinzy, and husband Stewart, of Gladstone, Missouri, and Vickie Lynn Palmer, of Scottsdale, Arizona; one brother, Boyd Johnson, of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Bessie Saunders, of Homer, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wymond Palmer; three brothers, Benjamin and Bill Johnson, and Genola Kirby; three sisters, Hallie Wilson Akers, Frances Johnson, and Ann Kirby Young; and one great-grandson, Deven Fristoe. Services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
