Helen M. Hensley, age 90, a longtime resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Helen was born in Bedford, Missouri, on November 17, 1921, the daughter of Ollen and Lucille (Richardson) Figg. She was a 1938 graduate of Hale High School. On August 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ralph Hensley in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. She worked as a nurse at the Chillicothe Hospital, Carroll County Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Hanson in Hale, Missouri. She was a member of the Hale Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed receiving and sending cards and also writing letters. She loved working in her flowers, but most of all her family brought the greatest joy to her. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Berg and husband Larry of Kansas City, Kansas; sister Beatrice Bannan of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Carrie Wessel of Parkville, Missouri, and Ashley Wells and husband Larry of St. Joseph, Missouri; and five great grandchildren, Ashley Staples of Parkville, Missouri, Taylor Wells of St. Joseph, Missouri, Sean and Paige Wessel of Parkville, Missouri, and Lauren Wells of St. Joseph, Missouri.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph; and three brothers, Harold Figg, Lloyd Figg and Donald Figg. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Saturday, January 14, 2012, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Friday, January 13, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. Private family burial will be held in Hale Memorial Gardens, Hale, Missouri.
