Helen Sharlene Bowe

Helen Sharlene Bowe, age 99, a resident of Urich, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her residence.

Helen was born the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Robinson) Mekins in Chula, Missouri, on June 21, 1925. She was united in marriage to James Bowe on January 26, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2005.

Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Creighton, Missouri and a former member of the Alpha Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Chillicothe Garden Club. She was an avid flower gardener; she enjoyed all types of flowering plants.

Survivors include three sons, Jim Bowe of Creighton, Missouri, Edwin Bowe of Urich, Missouri and Charlie Bowe (Belinda) of Laredo, Missouri; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. noon until service time. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Ricket Cemetery, Chula, Missouri.
