Harold Richard "Dick" Figg Harold Richard "Dick" Figg died at approximately 1:55 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Veteran's Home in Cameron, Missouri at the age of 82. Dick was born on May 2, 1930, a son of William F. and Geraldine (Tompkins) Figg in Bedford, Missouri. He was a 1948 graduate from Avalon High School. On June 10, 1950 he married Marion Jean Searcy at the Mt. Olive Church close to Wheeling. They first lived in Polo, Missouri, and then moved to Stet. Later they moved to Hale and then to Chillicothe. To this reunion was born three children, Rick, Gene, and Gail. Dick, as he was better known by all who knew him, returned from a stint in the Army where he sustained an injury while serving in the Korean Conflict, worked for Farmers Electric Cooperative for over 30 years. For additional income Dick would wire anything that needed electricity. He also liked to farm and raise cattle. Dick loved to fish and hunt. His two favorites were catching flatheads or goose hunting and just enjoying time at the cabin. Dick is survived by three sons, Rick Figg of Lake Pomme De Terre, Missouri, Gene Figg of Carrollton, Missouri, and Gail Figg of Omaha, Nebraska; three brothers, Delford Figg of Richmond, Missouri, Larry Figg of Hale, Missouri, and Bill Figg of Hale, Missouri; three sisters, Marilyn Keith of Chillicothe, Missouri, Lois Jean Kipper of Richmond, Kansas, and Frances Wolf of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Donald and Tom Figg. Services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
