Hallie Mae Jacobs, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday June 1, 2010. She was born on September 12, 1914, the daughter of John and Laura Belle (Shatto) Plowman in Sullivan County, Missouri. On November 9, 1931, she married Peter Lee Jacobs in Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1976. She made her home in Chillicothe, Missouri after marriage until 1960 when they moved to Chula, Missouri. She lived in Chula until 2007 when she moved to Chillicothe, Missouri to make her home at Morningside Center. She was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church, Laredo, Missouri. Hallie enjoyed gardening. She was a supervisor and sewer for Boss Manufacturing in Chillicothe, Missouri, where she retired in 1972. She is survived by one son Ivan Jacobs, of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one daughter Betty Surber of St. Jacob, Illinois; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Elvin Jacobs and daughter-in-law Shirley; four brothers Harve, Fred, Paul "Dick" and Edwin Plowman; one grandson Cary Surber and an infant granddaughter Crystal Jacobs. Services will be at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rickett Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rickett Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
