Grant E. "Cookie" Pittman

Grant "Cookie" Pittman Grant "Cookie" Pittman, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri. Grant was born the son of Leon and Mae Vonzelle (Helm) Pittman on July 31, 1941, in Chillicothe, Missouri. On July 7, 1996, he was united in marriage to Loretta Sue David in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2012. He was a member of the United States Navy. Grant worked for the Kansas City Fire Department, and then for the Chillicothe Correctional Center for 20 years, retiring in 2002. He is survived by three sons, Grant Pittman Jr., Jeffery Pittman, and Robert Pittman; six daughters, Tina Pittman, of Chillicothe, Missouri, Angie Iverson of Kansas City, Missouri, Tracy Jones, of Columbia, Missouri, Tia Pittman, of Chillicothe, Missouri, Renee Sipes, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Candi Sipes, of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Harry Helm, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Norma Jean Holiday of Chillicothe, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Loretta Pittman. Services will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00p.m. Burial will be held at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri.
