Gomer Earl Jones Gomer Earl Jones, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri. Gomer was born the son of Sam and Ruth (Munden) Jones on July 6, 1928, in Avalon, Missouri. He was a 1947 Chillicothe High School graduate. He was united in marriage to Donna Tiberghien on May 14, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 6, 1995. Gomer was a member of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Midland Brick and Tile for 28 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Souls Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, the Chillicothe American Legion Verne R. Glick Post 25, and the Chillicothe. He was a long time farmer in Avalon, Missouri, and enjoyed gardening and participated in the Farmer's Market for 10 years. In 2005, he received a service award from R.S.V.P. for completing 10,000 hours of community service. Survivors include two daughters, Barb Jones of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Vickie Brandon of Lawton, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one sister, Mary Smith of Leon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna; two brothers, Roy Jones and John M. Jones; and two sisters, Nancy Hutcherson and Annie Hughes. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
