Gesine Johanne Fields

Gesine Johanne (Baumann) Fields Gesine Johanne ("Joanne") Fields, age 78, of Braymer, Missouri, died June 10, 2011, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. On July 18, 1932, Joanne was born to Conrad and Wilhelmine Baumann in Manslagt, Germany. Joanne graduated in 1959 from Nurse's Training at Kansas City General Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Gary Fields on January 5, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated with a B.A. Degree in Modern Language in 1974 from Park College in Parkville, Missouri. Joanne held several nursing positions in the Kansas City area from 1959 to 1978. In January 1979 she began employment as a nurse at Braymer High School. Also, she worked part-time as a staff nurse at Hedrick Medical Center and Ray County Hospital until retirement in 1997. She was a member of the Braymer Lion's Club, Braymer Baptist Church and the Missouri Teacher's Association. Joanne is survived by her son, William Fields, daughter-in-law, Katy, and grandson, Adam, of Overland Park, KS; two brothers, Lbbert and Theo Baumann of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Wilhelmine Baumann; husband, Gary Fields; son, Mike Fields; and brother, Hannes Baumann. Funeral services will be held at Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. A family visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Friends may call on Sunday, June 12, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer Missouri. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, in Braymer, Missouri.
