Gertrude Virginia Smith Gertrude Virginia Smith, age 93, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri. Gertrude was born the daughter of Frank and Ethel Mae (Cox) Kille on January 26, 1922, in Chesterhill, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Ora "Paul" Smith on December 2, 1939, in Laredo, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2008. Gertrude worked as an LPN in the OB department at Hedrick Medical Center for many years. Survivors include one son, Larry Paul Smith of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Linda K. Hall and husband Don of Howard, Kansas; two grandchildren, Stefanie L. Lyll and husband Mike of Augusta, Kansas, and Mark A. Hall and wife Regina of Howard, Kansas; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Howard Kille and wife Betty of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one sister, Norma Jean James and husband Larry of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 31, 2105, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 31, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
