George Albert Tengel, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, lost his battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) on July 20, 2024 in Columbia, Missouri. He was born November 26, 1978 in Denver, Colorado.
George is survived by his long-time partner, Monica England, of the home; seven children and bonus children James Cullimore (Minnesota), Madeline Tengel (Minnesota) , Katherine (Paul) Kneeland (Wisconsin), George Tengel (Wisconsin), Helena England, Alexander England and Arthur Tengel, of the home; and one sister, Rebecca Carpenter (Kansas). He was preceded in death by an infant son, Henry Tengel; grandparents George A. and Muriel Tengel, and Jim and Georgia McTaggart.
George was kind, loving and patient. The love he had for Monica and the children was fierce and unwavering. He would often talk about how amazing and unique each of his children are and how proud he was of each one as they’ve grown and changed. He loved to laugh and enjoyed making those around him laugh with silly antics and lame dad jokes. He was always ready to help a friend or family member. He was able to stay calm and level-headed in tense situations. He excelled at analyzing problems and working out a solution.
You could often find George out in nature, enjoying activities including hiking, fishing, camping, spelunking and kayaking. He worked most of his adult life in construction and remodeling, where his tendency towards perfectionism shined. George
