Mrs. Genevieve M. Reardon, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Genevieve was born in Brookfield, Missouri on March 15, 1921, the daughter of Rudolph J. Lodder and Josephine (Nanneman) Lodder. At an early age, her family moved to Marceline, Missouri where she attended St. Bonaventure schools. She also attended the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri and worked in Kansas City, Missouri as a secretary for several years. On May 28, 1949 she married Joseph A. Reardon at St. Bonaventure Church in Marceline, Missouri. They spent their entire married life in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2009. Mrs. Reardon, a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, was active in the Legion of Mary for many years, a member of St. Ann's Altar Society, a member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, and a member of the Oblates of St. Benedict. She was a former religion teacher of St. Columban's CCD program for 20 years. Genevieve and Joseph were the parents of three children, one son, Father Daniel Reardon, Lieutenant Commander of the Arch Diocese of the US Military, stationed in San Diego, California; two daughters, Maureen Ann Reardon of Roeland Park, Kansas, Mary Jo Wong and husband Victor of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Keren Cowart of Washington DC, and Jessica Cowart of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents; one son, Timothy James; and three brothers, James, Joseph, and Martin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Parish Rosary on Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by a family visitation until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery in Chillicothe, Missouri.
