Genevieve (Jean) R. Dayton Genevieve (Jean) R. Dayton, age 90, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Jean was born the daughter of John H. and Adelia M. (Bealer) Glauser on March 6, 1927, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Girdner Dayton on September 15, 1946, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2013. Jean worked in the cafeteria for Chillicothe High School for 28 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri. Jean was also a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post No. 25 Auxiliary and the Livingston County Democratic Women's Club. Jean enjoyed tending her flowers and feeding and watching the birds in her yard. She loved spending time with her family and always cooked delicious meals for them. Her wonderful hugs will be missed by many. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Sue Gibson and husband Merle of Wheeling, Missouri, Linda Brightwell of Richardson, Texas, and Lori A. Clark and husband Ronald of Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren, Dayton Brightwell of Rowlett, Texas, Amy Lovett of Wylie, Texas, Jason Gibson of Winter Garden, Florida, Danny Gibson of Roeland Park, Kansas, Amanda Kennedy of Meadville, Missouri, Drew Gibson of Brooklyn, New York, Nathan Clark, Hunter Clark, and Caleb Clark all of Portland, Oregon; eleven great grandchildren, Samantha Brightwell and Ryan Brightwell of Forney, Texas, Emily Lovett, Hannah Lovett, and Justin Lovett of Wylie, Texas, Cayla Kennedy, Devyn Kennedy, and Eli Kennedy of Meadville, Missouri, Grace Gibson and Nora Gibson of Winter Garden, Florida, and Brianna Wall of Rowlett, Texas; several half-brothers and half-sisters; brother-in-law, Russell Dayton of Overland Park, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; one sister, Rosemary; one brother, John Glauser, Jr; and son-in-law, Sam Brightwell. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, one hour prior to the service at 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 5, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
