Geneva Marjory Vanhorne

Geneva Marjory VanHorne, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Geneva was born the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Herring) Hamilton, on March 10, 1919, in Jamesport, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Charles VanHorne on August 7, 1935, in Brookfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2003. Geneva worked as a machine operator at Midwest Glove for several years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe. Geneva found Jesus Christ as her personal savior in a one room country church at the age of 22 years. At the closing of that church she moved her membership to Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Survivors include one son Larry VanHorne of Kearney, Missouri; two daughters Marjory Rion and husband Mike of Olathe, Kansas, and Ruth Ann Carey and husband Doug of Shawnee, Kansas; one brother Donald Hamilton and wife Millie; three grandchildren Amy Carey, Jill Sawson and her husband Tom, and Danny VanHorne and his wife Becky; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles VanHorne; and three brothers, Wilbur Hamilton and Harold Hamilton and a baby brother at birth; and daughter-in-law Jerri VanHorne. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, in Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 3, 2015, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
