Gary Allen Huckaby Gary Allen Huckaby, age 58, a resident of Utica, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014, Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends. Gary was born the son of Clarence "Ralph", Jr. and Corona Adaline "Ada" (Myers) Huckaby on May 1, 1956, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a 1974 graduate of Lathrop High School, Lathrop, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Cookie (Rist) Mammen on June 25, 1990, in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. He worked as a Meat Cutter for 24 years at A & P, Chillicothe, United Super, Chillicothe, Hyklas at Hamilton, and the Milan Cash Saver. He also worked as a Custodian at Grand River Technical School, Chillicothe, Missouri, for 16 years. Gary enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping, dancing, music, singing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an Elvis Presley fan. Survivors include his wife, Cookie of the home; one daughter, Stephanie Ballard and Danny McCracken of Avalon, Missouri; one son, David Mammen and partner Dustin Hibler of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren, Whitney Ballard and Cory Wilder of Chillicothe, Missouri, Jacob Ballard and wife Amber of Breckenridge, Missouri, Hunter Ballard, Randi Mammen, and Mason Hibler; four great grandchildren, Caden Kanniainen, Harlea Wilder, Quade Wilder, and Avery Ballard; one brother, Philliph Huckaby and wife Dorothy of Plattsburg, Missouri; three sisters, Linda Cain and husband Mike of Lake Viking, Missouri, Donna Terry of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Susan Eads and husband Dwayne of Lathrop, Missouri; and one aunt, Doris Walker of Overland Park, Kansas. He was also survived by one sister-in-law, Rose Burke and husband, Bruce of Utica, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Bill Rist of Chillicothe, Missouri; father-in-law, Jack H. Rist of Chillicothe, Missouri; his, Fur Babies (cats); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Blair; and one sister-in-law, Debbie Johnson. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Utica Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gary A. Huckaby Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
